"No Fear Camp!" is a Christian field language camp.
Christian because it is organized by people for whom God is an important, personal part of life.
Language because while relaxing, having fun, singing, participating in workshops, and discussing any topic, we will practice English. The main goal is to stop being afraid of it.
And field because it takes place on a field.
The camp starts at 12:00 PM on July 14th and ends at 12:00 PM on July 21st, 2025.
We will be on a meadow in the middle of the forest in Gosprzydowa, near Gnojnik. Click the link to learn more.
Price is 700zł.
No, we didn’t skip one zero. Remember that the price does not include transport to the location (if you need a ride, let us know) and you need to bring a few things with you.
To anyone who would like to practice English and overcome their fear. Who likes to feel young and enjoys being among young people. Besides, be whoever you want: bold or shy, big or small. You can speak English fluently or just a little bit.
The camp is organised by "To Be Happy C.I.C." from England with volunteers from different countries. You will find more information in the links.
C.I.C. stands for "Community Interest Company". It's a type of company in the United Kingdom similar to charity. All the profits must be spent to benefit a community in line with the company's statutory objectives. Simply put, it's a business that runs like any other, but all the profits must be spent on something good for everybody.
That's the formal side of things.
On a more personal note, the camp's inventor and driving force is Martin Lechowicz. If you speak Polish you might know him from the internet. Martin is known for his humorous songs and libertarian views, but less so for running a Bible podcast called Odwyk for the last 16 years.
Over the years, the podcast has attracted extraordinary people: creative, brave, unconventional, and sometimes a bit strange, who gradually began to meet spontaneously. They organized spontaneous camps over the years, which they called "OdwykCamp"; in 2022, they founded "To Be Happy C.I.C."; in 2023, they went to co-organize a camp in Ukraine (no one else wanted to); in 2024 they organized a language camp for youth from Children's Homes and beyond, and in 2025 they are doing things fully their own way and without restrictions.
Martin Lechowicz has been participating in American language camps organized in Poland by International Messengers since 1995. First as a participant, and for the next 15 years as a translator. Then there was a long, long break, but in the end, the longing for the camps won.
Of course not. "Christian camp" simply means: it is organised by Christians, not the participants.
The only thing we ask of the participants is to respect the beliefs, convictions, and views of other camp participants, even if they do not agree with them.
Diversity of opinions, the right to one's own personal beliefs, and open discussions about God and faith are exactly what we encourage the most and what we particularly promote at the camps. A camp "only for Christians" would be contrary to our beliefs.
Camp is not the army, people are not robots. Young people don't like rules, and with a good reason. Neither do we.
But since we don't know all our campers, a minimal set of strict rules must apply to all. There are 7 basic rules and the camp:
1. We do not tolerate any violence, beating others, or bullying. This applies to everyone and everywhere. There will be no tolerance for those who harm others.
2. The same applies to private property. Theft or destruction of belongings belonging to others will not be tolerated.
3. During the camp, we do not drink alcohol or use drugs. Not only on the premises. Everywhere.
4. Smoking is only allowed in designated areas on the premises. The general principle is: you can smell if you like, but do it so that others don't have to smell it.
5. If a girl and a boy want to work at a young age for 800+ (child benefit in Poland), that’s their right, but let them wait with such things until the end of the camp. Please control yourselves. We kindly ask.
6. Participants are obligated to listen to the instructions of the staff regarding safety, legal requirements, and other important matters. For example, when a teacher says, “Wojtek, take off that sweater because it’s 35 degrees,” you can either listen or ignore it. But when a teacher says, “Wojtek, get out of the tent because there’s a fire,” there is no room for discussion.
7. In case of doubts about whether the rules have been broken, the final decision rests with the camp leader.
The participant accepts that if they break the rules, their camp experience is over and they will return home at their own expense.
This is the minimum we require. We do not create rules on a whim or for the sake of being cautious, because we believe that trust and understanding yield better outcomes than coercion and rules. But we also need to ensure that everyone has a good time and returns home safely, which is why there will be no tolerance for breaking the strict rules at camp.
Participants (or parents) organize transport to and from the camp on their own. If there are any issues, it’s best to contact us, and we will try to find the best solution together.
Contact us via chat, email, or phone, and we will tell you all the details.
You can pay 700zł right away or just pay a deposit. Let us know that you are signing up for the camp, and we will send you the details for the transfer.
Well, that's unfortunate. You'll lose your money. But maybe you'll change your mind about changing your mind and actually come? You can come even if you change your mind.
In the event that, for unforeseen reasons, the camp cannot take place, we will refund everyone everything they paid.
No way, seriously? We went to great lengths to make the price absurdly low. I doubt we’ll ever manage to cut costs as much as we did this year.
But you know, life can be unpredictable, so if you’re short on funds, let us know. We always have a special fund for potential special guests. Especially if you’re from outside Poland. The more diverse the people, the more interesting the camp!
In the case of extreme bravery, you can take nothing. However, we still recommend taking one, some, or all of the following items:
- tent
- sleeping bag
- bowl, spoon, and cup for outdoor dining
- waterproof gear
- warmer clothes for colder days
- towel, soap, and so on
- a stuffed animal or comfort object (even if someone is older)
- sunscreen or sunscreen-free cream
- PMR radio
- a musical instrument or a songbook for singing
Find Gosprzydowa on the map, it is near Gnojnik.
If you come by car, you can drive onto the camp area. There will be parking there. If you arrive by public transport, it is best to get to Brzesko and then take a taxi to our field. Instead of a taxi, you can also take a local bus to Gnojnik and then walk about 4 kilometers on foot. You can also contact us, maybe someone from our group will be able to pick you up from Gnojnik.
Well, this child is of legal age, but if you want to visit anyway, of course you can.
You are in good company, as half of the team has special dietary requirements. We accept the challenge, there are no dietary needs that we can't handle. We will help as much as we can, but you must remember that during this camp, we do a lot of things ourselves. So, it is quite likely that you will have to put in a little more effort than others.
Who are we to tell you how to live your life? There are countless insurance options, and it's a personal decision. We are always prepared for various events, but how and what to insure against is left to each individual's decision.
At the very beginning of the camp, before we divide into groups, we spend some time with each participant to get to know them, but also to assess their level of English. Only based on this information will we divide into groups so that each group has not only a similar level but also similar expectations.
For example, it may happen that there is a group of participants who are more educationally ambitious than Hermione Granger. In that case, we will create a small advanced group for them.
What we know for sure is that there will be no fewer than 3 people in a group and no more than 7.
You can take someone into your tent, or sleep alone. It's up to you.
Are you afraid there won't be anything to do? The opposite problem has always been present at camps: how to manage to do everything we would like to do.
If you haven't had the chance to meet us yet, remember that these camps are organized by rather unusual people. Our average teacher is not a master's graduate of English studies, but a traveler who has lived in several countries, speaks four languages, has met thousands of people, read hundreds of books, and has more interests than time.
We don’t get bored. It's simply not an option.
